The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public alert regarding an international recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles due to the presence of undeclared allergens—milk and eggs—which pose serious health risks to consumers with allergies or intolerances.

The alert, Public Alert No. 041/2025, follows a notice from French authorities (Rappel Conso) identifying undeclared allergens in the product.

Product Details

  • Brand: Indomie
  • Variant: Vegetable Flavour Noodles
  • Best Before Date: 06/02/2026
  • Batches: All lots affected

While Nigeria’s ban on noodle imports reduces the official risk of entry, NAFDAC cautioned that illicit circulation through online purchases or international travel remains possible. The agency has intensified surveillance, directing zonal directors and state coordinators to monitor and mop up any detected stock.

Consumer Advisory

  • Distributors, retailers, and consumers are urged to avoid distribution, sale, or consumption.
  • Immediately discard any possessed product.
  • Report suspected sales to the nearest NAFDAC office, via toll-free line 0800-162-3322, or online at www.nafdac.gov.ng.
  • Report adverse reactions through the same channels.

NAFDAC emphasised vigilance to protect public health, reaffirming its “customer-focused, agency-minded” commitment. Despite occasional international recalls, Indomie remains a widely consumed household staple in Nigeria due to its affordability.
